Seven Hills Motorcars is tremendously proud to offer this stunning 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ in spectacular condition with the 455ci big block engine. This Grand Prix SJ is in amazing shape; it runs great, drives awesome, and looks spectacular. The car has great lines and is totally solid; one can even see how clean detailed the car is underneath in the many photos of the car on a lift, the previous owner even to the time to pinstripe the bottom of the car. This is an excellent opportunity to own an exceptional Grand Prix SJ that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value.

We've driven this car about 50 miles recently. During that time that car was totally reliable, had absolutely no issues, and was a true pleasure to drive.

Throughout the entire G-Body market right now, this is one of the nicer Grand Prix's available, especially with the big block engine. The 1969 model year is desirable and sought after out of the third generation Grand Prix's. This car would be hard to duplicate for anything near our asking price. This Grand Prix SJ looks great, runs awesome, and is particularly fun to drive. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Pontiac that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as these G-Body's are appreciating fast and the market on them is very hot right now, especially for such a nice example like this car. While this Grand Prix does not have the original engine, the previous owner said that the newly rebuilt 455ci engine came out of an early 70's GTO. The code “YC” is stamped on the engine block, this code would be correct for a 1970 or 1971 GTO with the 455ci. The original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title, pictured in this ad, that shows the mileage as “Actual.”

As a side note, this Grand Prix SJ is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Pontiac, just give us a call.

Exterior

The Copper-Bronze exterior is in excellent driver condition. As one can see in the photos, the paint has a great gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut well and feel great when you close them. The chrome and other bright-work on the car looks great overall with no pitting. The wheels are in great condition with a brilliant finish and no curb rash. The thin white wall tires have plenty of tread left and are sized 235/75R15. There are no major blemishes that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There is some very light checking and other small imperfections that were too faint to show in in the photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. As one can see in the many photos of the underside of the car it is exceptionally clean underneath. The previous owner even took the time to detail the bottom of the car. He installed a chrome driveshaft and chrome sway bar the go great with all the chrome under the hood and even pinstriped the bottom of the floor pans and other areas underneath the car. We have included specific photos of the lower quarters, rockers, spring perches, and other areas most prone to rust to show how clean this car is.

Interior

The saddle interior of the Grand Prix SJ is in wonderful condition. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the gauge lenses are crystal clear. The carpet is in great condition with no stains, rips, or holes. This includes the rear carpet, which is often neglected. The seats look just as nice in person as they do in the photos with no split seams, tears, or excessive wear. There is just a small spot of wear on the bead in the typical area on the bolster where the driver gets in and out. The door panels are in great condition with no cracks or splits and the door pulls are solid and intact, the door panel is not worn in the typical area where the driver's elbow sits. The dash looks good with no splits, sun fading, or cracks. The package tray looks great with no warping, fading, or sun damage. Please note that both front seat belts work and retract properly. This is a common problem and an issue many buyers do not think to check. This Pontiac has not been smoked in, there are no burn marks and no aroma of cigarettes.

The trunk is very clean and nicely detailed; the car comes with the jack, jack base, and lug wrench.

Pontiac interiors from this era are not known to wear well over the years and the spectacular condition of this interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care this car has received throughout its life and another great verification of the low original mileage.

Mechanical

This Grand Prix SJ is in excellent mechanical condition and it is ready to be enjoyed. As stated above, we have put about 50 miles on this car recently with absolutely no problems and it performed great. The 455ci big block engine starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smoothly. The previous owner told us that it was recently rebuilt. This Grand Prix is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The transmission shifts smoothly throughout the power band. The car runs cool and does not overheat. This Grand Prix SJ has plenty of power. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean and detailed to an exceptional degree as one can see in the photos with chrome inner fenders, air cleaner, valve covers, brake booster, master cylinder cap, a/c components, and much much more. The car is ready to be driven and enjoyed. The wipers work as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, indicators, dash lights, and radio. All of the gauges work with the obvious exception of the car. The horn will click, but does not blow. The blower for the header and a/c does not work. The car does drip some oil. The car has a very healthy exhaust note as one can hear in the video. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car.

This Grand Prix SJ runs and drives as well as it looks.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1969 Grand Prix SJ is in amazing driver condition. This car is particularly rare and extra desirable with the 455ci engine and beautiful color combination. Fine examples of the third-generation Grand Prix's are hard to find and draw a huge premium in the current market. Cars like this are the Barrett Jackson stars of the future.

The excellent condition, the nice custom touches by the previous owner, and the desirable options make this Grand Prix especially important and difficult to duplicate. This Grand Prix always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. It is very apparent that the vehicle has been well taken care of by its previous owners. The prices of third-generation Grand Prix's have increased drastically over the past years, especially for premium examples like this car. Although this car isn't super original it is still a very good example of a 69 SJ. They are secure and wise investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
